Alan Jackson & Clint Black’s Incredible Miller Lite Commercial From The ’90s Still Holds Up

Alan Jackson and Clint Black
Miller Lite

Simpler times.

Remember when beer commercials made you lean in and actually pay attention? They don’t make advertisements like they used to anymore, and maybe that’s because they peaked in the early 1990’s with spots like this one. What happens when Alan Jackson (sans his usual glorious mustache) and Clint Black come to a crossroads while out on the road?

They park the tour buses, have a party, and drink copious amounts of Miller Lite, of course.

If any advertisers out there happen to be reading this, all you have to do to sell beer is follow the blueprint this 90’s ad laid out. Take two country stars, create some tension in the beginning, and then have the big payoff be a musical number where they sing about drinking beer and dance (with a group of people that just randomly appears).

It’s really that simple:

You know the classic question of, “Where would you go if you had a time machine?” I’ve always struggled to answer that, but I think I know without a shadow of a doubt where I’d go now… to the taping of this Miller Lite commercial in the middle of the desert.

As the caption to the above post so beautifully puts, the ’90s really were electric. And that’s because that decade kept things simple. The country music was better, the beer was colder, and the commercials were actually entertaining and worth watching (at least that’s how it seems as we nostalgically look back).

And if you watched the advertisement above and said to yourself, “I wish there was a little bit more to that,” you are in luck my friend. There’s actually an even longer version of the Miller Lite ad, which just allowed the two legends of Alan Jackson and Clint Black get a little further into the song and the roadside party.
