Miranda Lambert To Headline Grand Opening Of New Nashville Venue, The Truth, Featuring A 12-Piece String Section

Miranda Lambert

Music City will be welcoming another venue in October, and the great Miranda Lambert will be tapped with breaking the place in. Called “The Truth,” (named for Harlan Howard’s famous quote that country music is “three chords and the truth”) the 4,400 cap room will be located in Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood and is owned by Live Nation.

With Miranda’s highly-anticipated country disco project, Crisco, arriving on October 2nd, Miranda Lambert will headline The Truth on October 1st, the grand opening of the venue. The one-night-only event will feature a number of hits from her legendary catalog, as well as a preview of select tracks off the new album. Tickets for “Miranda Lambert: One Night Only” go on sale to the general public this Friday, August 21st at 10 a.m. CT

Of the kick-off show, Miranda says:

“It was magical to hear the way strings can transform a song when we were in the studio creating this record, and I can’t wait to bring that to life in an even bigger way with our full setlist. We’ve never gotten to play that way on stage, and to have the opportunity to do it for the first time at the opening of a beautiful new venue right here in Nashville is going to be really special.”

And then a few days days later, Miranda will head back to her home state of Texas for an album release party at the iconic Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth.

The Texas native has played and gone to shows at Billy Bob’s many times throughout her illustrious career, and it’s easily one of the most legendary historic honky tonks in the country… the perfect setting for this special show.

“When I was in the studio recording Crisco, I kept picturing the rhinestone saddle at Billy Bob’s. It’s the perfect visual for a country disco album: honky tonk with some extra rhinestones and shine.

I’ve played some of my all-time favorite shows at Billy Bob’s and it felt like the best place to bring everyone together to have fun and live out the feeling of this album.”

Billy Bob’s will be the perfect setting to debut all of these new songs, and it’s always extra special when Miranda returns to her honky tonk roots.

The release show will take place on Tuesday, October 6th, and tickets went on sale to the general public Friday, August 14th.

With this project, Miranda is taking her music in a very different direction, and as she continues to tease new music with her new label MCA. It marks a new chapter in her decorated recording career, both with a new label and a new sonic approach to making country music.

She says that she’s always loved “every corner of country music,” and with Crisco, she wanted to lean into the more fun, upbeat kinds of songs that make you dance. Reminiscent of the ’80s Urban Cowboy era, the new music has brought a fun, yet classic country vibe that is both nostalgic and refreshing. Of the new music, Miranda says:

“I’ve always loved every corner of country music. The heartbreak songs, the honky-tonk songs, the songs that make you think and the songs that make you dance. Making this record reminded me that those things don’t have to be separated.

We followed the songs wherever they wanted to go, trusted our instincts and ended up with something that feels really fun and really honest to who I am.”

She’s already released the title track, her duet with Chris Stapleton that was released last year, “A Song To Sing,” “Till The Going’s Gone,” and most recently, a groovy one called “Sunset Marquis” that was inspired by her many stays at the iconic hotel.
