We’ve got another heater on the way.
Today, Tyler Childers announced on X (Twitter) that his song for the upcoming Twisters movie, “Song While You’re Away,” will be out everywhere this Friday, June 28th.
It’s part of the Twisters: The Album film soundtrack, which features more than a few other great country artists and is due out in full upon the movie’s release date in theaters, July 19th. You can hear a clip of Tyler’s song here:

Of course, the movie is a follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster Twister, and features Daisy Edgar-Jones starring as Kate Cooper, and Glenn Powell starring as Tyler Owens. The film is due out in theaters on July 19th.
In terms of other songs included on the album, we’ve already heard some solid tunes from Luke Combs, Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson, who put out “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma,” “Never Left Me” and “Out of Oklahoma,” respectively. Luke’s song is also his current single at country radio.
Miranda Lambert, The Red Clay Strays and so many more will be featured on the lengthy 29-song tracklist, and it’s extremely impressive that they put together a group of some of the best country acts in the business right now to produce what is already a really solid movie soundtrack (and that’s pretty rare to say).
I think the last time I remember loving a movie soundtrack this much was when A Star Is Born came out in 2018, and we haven’t even heard all of the music from this one yet. Of course, like I said, they’ve recruited the genres best to help and so far most of them have delivered.
And obviously, getting Tyler definitely gives it another level of legitimacy when using the term “some of the genres best,” to quote myself. I’ll take any new Timmy Tyler music I can get, even it is for a movie soundtrack.
