The Red Clay Strays are all gas no breaks right now regarding new music, and we are HERE FOR IT.
The Red Clay Strays are gearing up for their next album, Made By These Moments, which is dropping July 26th. Since the announcement of their new record, the Alabama band has been dropping straight heaters, leading off the new material with “Wanna Be Loved” and following it up with “Devil In My Ear.”
But they are itching to get this new music into the hands of their listeners, teasing another brand new one, not even a week since their last release.
Today, the group took to Instagram teasing their next track, “Drowning.”
“’Drowning’ is up next y’all. Here’s a sneak peek.”
Their last two singles highlight the feelings of wanting to be validated or letting in intrusive thoughts. The theme of mental health shines on this track as well. The classic rock and roll-inspired track highlights Brandon Coleman’s unreal vocal ability, as he delivers portions of the lyrics with a deep growl and power and other lines with a silky smooth blues feel.
“I can’t tread much longer now
I’m trying, to keep my head
Above the water
So, throw me a line
Show me a sign
That everything will be alright
Cause I feel like I’m
Drowning
Somebody help me out.”
Once again, the Red Clay Strays are throwing a bullseye with this one; it’s a straight heater. Even Muscadine Bloodline is on board, commenting:
“Save some for the rest of us!”
I can’t wait to hear this record in full on July 26th. It’s gearing up to be something special.
Check out the Red Clay Strays performing the song live from a show last year in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You’ll want to turn this all the way up.
