On to Atlanta

The 2022 NASCAR season is officially back in action, and while we’re only four races in, the season has already been pretty chaotic with the new Next-Gen cars.

At Atlanta is about to further that trend.

After a wild Daytona 500 that saw rookie Austin Cindric throw a monster block on his teammate Ryan Blaney and hold off a hard-charging Bubba Wallace to take home the checkered flag in only his second start in the Great American Race, we saw fireworks between teammates Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, after Kyle appeared to throw a late block and put Chase into the wall.

Some last minute pit strategy saw Alex Bowman steal the checkered flag from Kyle Busch last week in Las Vegas, but today, the NASCAR Cup Series returns to a newly-configured Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds Of Honor QuikTrip 500.

Last week’s winner Chase Briscoe will start in the top spot, along with Ryan Blaney in the front row.

So without further ado… let’s get to the odds, picks and predictions:

Predictions:

Once again, I’m still high on the Penske boys as Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric and with this newly revamped track running more like a Superspeedway, it could get chaotic.

With Blaney starting at the front, ahead of riff raff, I like him to take the checkered flag.

I also like Tyler Reddick who’s looked great this season, Briscoe again because he’s starting at the top, Kyle and Kurt Busch, and Brad Keselowski who’s always been good at Superspeedways and at Atlanta historically.

Ross Chastain has looked good this year, Bubba Wallace is always good at Superspeedways, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. looked great in practice. I like them all to finish Top 10.

Picks:

Here’s what we’re going with for the Daytona 500:

Winner: Ryan Blaney

Top 3: Tyler Reddick

Top 5: Kurt Busch

Top 10: Bubba Wallace, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
