It’s been almost seven months since Sturgill Simpson blessed us with his legendary The Ballad of Dood and Juanita concept album.

Although the man announced that the record would be his last, it’s still doing some impressive numbers, to say the least.

The Ballad of Dood and Juanita currently sits at number three on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, and debuts at number one on the Vinyl Albums chart after it was released on vinyl February 25.

The album sold a total of 14,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending on March 3rd, with more than 13,000 on vinyl.

Simpson is currently up for Best Country Album with The Ballad of Dood and Juanita, and Cuttin Grass-Vol 1 for Best Bluegrass Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Needless to say, if this album truly is the last original music we’ll ever hear from the man, he’s ending on one hell of a high note.
