Luke Bryan’s Son, Bo, Commits To Play College Football At The University Of Georgia

Bo Bryan – the son of country music star Luke Bryan – will be continuing his football career at the college he’s always dreamed about playing for.

Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline, have two boys: Thomas “Bo” and Tatum “Tate” Bryan. The older of the two, Bo, is currently a senior in high school, and all signs point towards him being quite the athlete. He’s currently enrolled at the Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee, where he plays baseball, football and competes on the wrestling team.

The 6-foot-1 QB is a three-star recruit, and is ranked the No. 141 quarterback in the nation.

He recently got an official offer from the University of Georgia, which was just the latest in a long line of colleges reaching out to let Bo know they’d love to have him join their football programs. Austin Peay, North Alabama, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, EKU and ETSU had all previously laid offers out on the table for Bo. But obviously, the University of Georgia is the biggest school out of all of those to recruit Bryan.

And Bo Bryan didn’t waste any time once that offer came in from the Bulldogs. He committed to play at Georgia almost immediately, and told Rivals that he didn’t even let the Georgia coach get off the phone before he made it clear he wanted to wear black and red in college:

“I told myself, ‘Are we going to shoot for the stars at a place like Georgia, or are we going to stay in the FCS or potentially a smaller FBS school?’ Eventually, I told myself, just shoot for the stars. As soon as I got the call, I knew. I knew that I was ready to do it. I literally committed on the phone with Coach Bobo. It was literally a dream come true.”

Bo took to social media over the weekend to make the announcement official:

There’s no doubt about it… the Bryan family is over the moon that Bo is going to play for the Bulldogs.

As you likely know, Luke Bryan is a Georgia Bulldogs super fan. The country singer didn’t attend the school himself (he actually went to Georgia Southern), but he was raised as a fan, and passed that down to his son. Bo says that he can’t remember a time in his life when he wasn’t rooting for the Bulldogs:

“To be honest, I don’t remember. That’s how long I’ve been a Georgia fan. I remember being at games and my parents holding me. I’ve always been a Georgia fan.”

And now he gets to play for that very team he grew up rooting on.

That is after he heals up from a broken collarbone, which he suffered a couple of weeks back. Prior to the injury, which will likely end his senior season, Bo had thrown for 2,006 yards and 30 touchdowns (with only three interceptions). His senior year was cut short, but he had done enough to impress Georgia, and that’s all that matters.

He now looks forward to developing as a player once he gets down Athens:

“I feel like they’re one of the best schools, if not the best, at development with every position, not only quarterback. There’s always a great quarterback there, and I just want to go there and be able to learn under a great quarterback and develop into somebody that I can’t even imagine myself being.”

Bo will be getting to Georgia sooner rather than later. He plans to sign with the Bulldogs during the Early Signing Period (which is coming up in December), and then enroll at the university in January. That’ll give him the opportunity to start practicing with the Georgia Bulldogs during their spring practice period.
