Garth Brooks is evidently looking for songs requests anywhere and everywhere during his 2026 Blame It All On My Roots Tour.
Brooks is currently out on the road for the first time in a long time for his Blame It All On My Roots Tour. The “Friends In Low Places” singer has been announcing his concert dates one city at a time, and the next city on his list is Chicago, Illinois, before he also stops in Washington D.C. and Orlando, Florida later this month.
Fans have flocked to his shows thus far, and many are citing his tour date rollout as a successful way to beat “Blue Dot Fever.” With every stop along the tour, Garth and his team has had to add additional shows to meet demand. The country star’s goal of creating intimate concerts within arenas is working out swimmingly, and while he was in Denver, Colorado this past weekend… one fan interaction really showcased the benefit of playing a smaller venue.
During the portion of the show where Brooks has been taking suggestions from the crowd, a fan held up a sign that had a very interesting request. Their poster read:
“Promised my cat I wouldn’t come home ’til you sang ‘Wrapped Up In You’.”
If you are trying to get the attention of an artist on stage with a poster… a message like that certainly works.
The poster caught Garth’s eye, and led to him having a friendly and entertaining back-and-forth with the fan who made a promise to her feline. Brooks was clearly tickled by the request, and set out to learn the name of the cat that had become part of the deal to get Garth to sing his 2001 hit song:
“What’s the cat’s name? Zephyr is the cat. Alright, well I’ll trust you on that one. Do me a favor, pet Zephyr on the head for me, okay?”
We’re gonna go with that spelling for “Zephyr,” since it seems to be a name – albeit an uncommon one – that pet owners sometimes go with for their furry companions (it’s actually short for the Greek god Zephyrus). Regardless of the cat’s name and origin, Garth Brooks held up his end of the bargain and broke into “Wrapped Up In You” after his back and forth with the fan:
“How do I love you?Well, let me seeI love you like a lyric loves a melodyBaby, completelyWrapped up in you”
The crowd was definitely wrapped up in the moment, and even helped Garth sing the last line of the song that came out 25 years ago. And the fan that requested the track – and her cat who apparently played an important part in the whole thing – couldn’t have been happier with how things went:
“What do you mean Garth Brooks had a quick little with chat with me, now knows my cat’s name & played my song request?! I still have no words. BEST. NIGHT. EVER! (And yes, I absolutely did cry afterwards).”
Seems like the cat-inspired request went over quite well with the Colorado crowd.
