Move over, Morgan Wallen.
It’s hard to argue that there’s a bigger artist, not just in the genre but music as a whole, than Ella Langley in 2026. In case you haven’t been keeping up with her and “Choosin’ Texas’” success, it just spent its 17th week at #1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. As it stands today, “Choosin’ Texas” is the longest-running #1 hit by a female artist THIS CENTURY, the only country song by a woman to triple up and go #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Country and Country Airplay charts simultaneously and just one of 25 songs in history to stay at #1 for 12+ weeks on the Hot 100.
In case that wasn’t enough, thanks to the success of her sophomore album, Dandelion, which debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and sold 169,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week, Langley became just the second woman in history to hold the #1 album and song in the U.S. simultaneously with a country song/album.
She would also capture other records on the Hot 100, such as becoming the first country artist IN HISTORY to hold the Top 2 songs in the United States simultaneously for more than one week and the first female country artist to score three of the Top 4 hits on the Hot 100 in a single week, becoming one of only nine artists in any genre to accomplish this feat.
Simply put, she has been everywhere. Whether it’s selling out arenas across the country on her own Dandelion Tour, which just wrapped up over the weekend in Texas, and opening up for Morgan Wallen on his potentially record-breaking Still The Problem Tour or scoring collabs with major brands such as American Eagle, Shiner Bock beer, Noyz perfume and more.
“Choosin’ Texas,” in particular, has gotten so big that it caught the ear of none other than Drake, who has also had himself quite the year in 2026, notably breaking Wallen’s record for most songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week (42) upon the release of his new record, ICEMAN, and its two accompanying projects, MAID OF HONOUR and HABIBTI.
Ironically, the Alabama native was the only reason that Drake didn’t become the first artist in history to occupy the entirety of the Top 10 on the Hot 100 that week, with “Choosin’ Texas” being the only non-Drake song in the Top 10.
Though she blocked him from making history, it’s clear there’s no bad blood between the two. In fact, he’s a big fan. Earlier in the summer, the “Passionfruit” singer went viral for blasting the song in Houston at a nightclub while he was deejaying an event.

Langley would proceed to give a shoutout of her own to Drake over the weekend, taking to TikTok to post a video of her lip-syncing the rappers legendary collab with Lil Wayne, “HYFR (Hell Ya F*cking Right),” which famously contains the George Strait reference, “All my exes live in Texas like I’m George Strait.”

Over the weekend, Langley wrapped up her sold-out string of shows on the aforementioned Dandelion Tour out in Texas in Austin, Corpus Christi and Fort Worth. Taking to Instagram to celebrate, the “Be Her” singer would upload photos from her week in the Lone Star state, calling the shows “unforgettable.”
Clearly seeing her earlier TikTok, Drake would take to Langley’s comment section almost immediately, complimenting her songwriting with the simple comment, “Goated Pen.” In turn, she’d simply reply with a shocked emoji.

Considering the fact that Wallen has been rumored to appear on a Drake song for what feels like years at this point and Langley herself hopped on BigXthaPlug’s “Hell At Night” earlier in the year, fans in the comments were begging the 27-year-old singer/songwriter to collab.
“Collab soon”
“Omg collab with her please!”
“Her pen def not dry. We need that collab gang”
“Omfg maybe Ella can be who brings back rap features I’m so ready for it again”
“Where the duet?”
“If yall collab, I will loose my sh*t”
Can’t say I’ve ever been a big fan when country and rap cross paths — I’ve always enjoyed them seperate of each other — but if there’s one artist that can make a Drake collab work other than Morgan Wallen, it’s undoubtedly Ella Langley. It should go without saying that would be an instant #1 hit considering how dominant they’ve been in 2026.
