“I Was Unresponsive For About 2 Minutes”: Tyler Farr Details The Accident That Left Him Hospitalized With A Severe Concussion

Tyler Farr

Country music singer, Tyler Farr, was forced to cancel his appearance at the Goshen Stampede last weekend after it announced that he had suffered a severe concussion. According to a post from the event, he was hospitalized following some kind of a motor vehicle accident at his home.

The event posted an update noting that he would be replaced by David Foster and the All Stars:

“Due to a motor vehicle incident on his farm, Tyler Farr was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed with a severe concussion. Tyler Farr will no longer be able to perform at the Goshen Stampede on June 13, 2026. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and will share additional event information as it becomes available. We wish Tyler a speedy recovery.

We are fortunate to have David Foster and the All Stars step in for Tyler. With numerous memorable performances, including appearances at Mohegan Sun Casino, the All Stars are a legendary New England group of musicians led by Dr. David “Lefty” Foster, performing legendary classic rock, country, and R&B hits.

The Goshen Stampede is full steam ahead with all events, and we’re excited to get down, dirty, and country with 2 HUGE rodeos, truck pulls, monster trucks, great food, carnival rides, and family fun!”

Fans and friends offered up their support and prayers, but no other details were given in regards to what happened, the extent of the injuries, etc… Until now.

Tyler Farr took to Instagram to detail the incident himself, and it sounds like it was a pretty frightening moment for him. It was initially reported that he was at his farm, and according to him, he was doing a writer’s retreat and riding on the tailgate of a pickup truck when he apparently fell off and hit his head. He says:

“What’s up y’all, it’s T Farr here. I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the people that have sent out their prayers through messages, friends, family, fans. Thank you so much. I was hospitalized last week for a severe concussion.

Yeah, I was unresponsive for about two minutes. I was doing a writers’ retreat and a buddy of mine was driving a pickup truck, I was on the tailgate. It was an accident. It wasn’t nobody’s fault. Believe it or not, it was not mine, ’cause that was the first thing I asked when I became responsive. It was just a, kind of a freak deal, pothole. Riding on the tailgate, I was in the middle, had nothing to hold on to. See ya… What I was told, that’s what happened. I was unresponsive for a minute or so. We got some great songs written.

But the good news is, even though I had, I had to miss a show last week in Connecticut, last Saturday, and I’m sorry about that, but Friday I’ll be flying out to California to Moorpark Hills to play this Saturday, June 20th, for Boots & Brews Festival with Jordan Davis, Gretchen Wilson, and my boy Kaden Morris. I love country music. I’ll keep singing it till they put me in the ground. We love you.”

Sounds like he’s back on his feet and doing well, but certainly a scary scene to be unconscious for a couple minutes. But hey… at least they got some good songs out of it, right?
