“Coolest Thing To Ever Happen”: Hunter Biden Loves Being Name Dropped In Sturgill Simpson’s ‘Make America F** Again’

Hunter Biden

Hunter Biden is evidently a fan of Johnny Blue Skies.

The artist formerly known as Sturgill Simpson had the zany and downright filthy lyricism turned all the way up to full blast for his latest album, Mutiny After Midnight. Real fans know that the project has been available for a couple of months now… if you were willing to buy it physically, or even pony up and buy it digitally through iTunes.

However, the masses that chose to wait for the album to release on streaming were just recently rewarded. The “Extended Edition” of the project popped up on Apple Music and Spotify on June 8 (Simpson’s birthday), and now, everyone has gotten a chance to listen to the crazy collection of disco-country.

Mutiny After Midnight contains all kinds of killer riffs, and plenty of political commentary… anti-ICE, anti-Trump, references to George Floyd. And above all, the album with an overarching theme of love had a healthy amount of head-turning, suggestive lines about, well…. sex. But we were warned that Stu was diving into unadulterated hedonism, so that wasn’t a surprise.

The most shocking lyrics in all of the album were probably within the lead track “Make America F** Again.” In the very first song on the record, Johnny Blue Skies dropped this ridiculous, not-veiled-at-all reference to Hunter Biden and the Biden family. It’s the number one, “oh damn” moment of the album, in my opinion:

“Don’t know why everybody’s afraid of me
I’m a sensitive boy when push comes to shove
I got that Hunter Biden energy
I’ll make a hooker f*** around and fall in love”

Granted, there were plenty of jabs at President Trump included in the album as well, but this Hunter Biden line was the one that took the cake. And now that music fans have gotten a chance to listen to Mutiny After Midnight, one reached out to Joe Biden’s son on X, asking him if he had heard his name dropped in “Make America F** Again.”

“Hey Hunter Biden, are you familiar with Johnny Blue Skies name-dropping you on his song ‘Make America F** Again’?”

That social media user probably assumed it was a long shot for Hunter Biden to reply to that question… but Hunter has been on an absolute HEATER on X lately, and sure enough, “Boogieman Sam” got an answer within four hours of sending the post out.

Hunter Biden’s official account replied directly to the inquiry, saying:

“By far the coolest thing to ever happen. Sturgill is my favorite.”

How about that?

He continued:

“So Sturgill Simpson is the greatest singer song writer out there right now in my opinion. I’ve been obsessed with his music and message since Meta Modern Sounds in Country Music. Turtles All the Way Down is one of my favorite songs ever. When I was in the early days of my recovery he released ‘Sound and Fury’ with the anime on Netflix and it played in the background as I painted almost everyday. All that and his cover of “In Bloom” may be the best cover of any cover ever. I love Sturgill.”

It’s not exactly a flattering name drop, but it’s a name drop nonetheless. And it sounds like Hunter Biden was already a huge fan of Simpson/Johnny Blue Skies, so hearing one of his favorite artists include him in a song (albeit in a line that pokes at Hunter’s problematic past) seems to be a dream come true for the son of the former president.
