Songs from a new album?
Zach Bryan has been saying for a while that he’s working on an album, and he announced that a project called With Heaven On Top was in the works a little while back, though it was slated for a January release last he gave an update.
He’s always done his own thing in terms of releasing music on a whim, and doing all of it on his own time (even though he is signed with a major label in Warner), so even if he says a certain date is when a song, EP or record may came out, that’s always subject to change.
He also dropped a new single “Madeline” earlier this summer, right on the heels of releasing the three-song EP that featured “Streets of London,” “Song For You,” and “River Washed Hair,” in addition to putting out “Bowery” with Kings of Leon.
The band also confirmed that Zach will be featured on their song “We’re Onto Something” this Friday, August 22nd:
So when Zach shared a very videos without much context in the early morning hours today, it has fans excited, but a little bit confused, about what it means.
He shared several videos on Instagram this morning that seem to be some sort of short film or music video that accompany the songs, one of which he previously said would be on the record called “Rockaway”:
One of the others he posted was for “Punch Drunk Jersey”:
The last one he posted is called “Fifty Four Years”:
They are three parts to something called The American Underbelly, which I can only speculate is the name of some sort of album, EP, or film project. Especially considering he’s already at least talked about “Rockaway” and it’s an unreleased song fans have wanted to hear for a while. Each of those video teasers feature a different person telling some sort of story, and since each one corresponds with a song, it leads me to believe they’re part of some sort of tracklist.
It could be an album or EP called The American Underbelly, or maybe some sort of separate video project altogether, though that seems unlikely since these songs aren’t even out yet. It’s possible he also could’ve renamed the previous EP he announced and this will actually be coming out sooner… or it’s something completely different and we’ll just have to wait and see.
The caption of all of those videos indicate that there’s “ten” of whatever it is in total, so there’s plenty more where that came from… stay tuned.
Zach Bryan 2025 Confirmed Tour Dates
Zach hasn’t toured much at all this year, compared to the kind of run he has been on the past couple years, so go see him if you get the chance… the crowds are only getting bigger, and it seems like he has a good chance to break George Strait’s recently set record for the largest ticketed concert crowd in United States history when he plays the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
He has just two dates left for 2025:
