Luke Combs is cooking up something GOOD.
The North Carolina native and country superstar has been teasing a new song dropping soon called “Back In The Saddle,” which is set for release this Friday, July 25th. He’s been sharing clips of song he wrote with frequent collaborators Jonathan Singleton and The Brothers Hunt on social media, and it sounds like a classic Luke Combs heater:
And today, he shared something possibly even more exciting, which is that NASCAR stars Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the legendary Richard Petty will be featured in the music video that will also drop this Friday.
The photos show the three of them at a race track, and while I can’t exactly make out which one they’re at in the photos, my guess is that it was filmed somewhere in North Carolina. Music videos these days are typically nothing to write home about, but this one looks bad*** and I can’t wait to see it and hear the full song:
Combs recently shared an update on new music and thanked them for their support during his brief break, and considering it’s been a while since he’s released new music, Luke is looking forward to getting back to doing what he does best:
“In all seriousness, just wanted to get on here and thank you guys for allowing me to have this time off with my family. I’m really excited to get to spend time with my wife and the boys. I am at the studio… I’m actually already here in the parking lot.
Just kind of wanted to update you guys on everything going on with me. I know that I’ve kind of been dark on social media for a while. Just not doing it as much as I should. I think that just comes with being busy with the kids… that’s just kind of what my life has been. Being a dad.”
In terms of the music itself, here’s what he said:
“I’m getting back in the saddle here. Back in the studio. I’m very excited about that. We’ve got some awesome festivals coming up this year… just stuff that we’ve never done. Stuff that I’m excited about.
Got a big tour coming next year. I just kind of finalized a lot of the details on that here in the last week or so. New record coming up soon, new tour coming up. I’m excited and I’m back.”
Little life update for y’all. I will be doing a headline tour next year and I am actively working on new music. There also may or may not be an Easter egg regarding new music in this video that will one day make sense.

With a new tour in the works and the fact that Combs has obviously been in the studio, I’d say an album announcement is imminent and we’ll be hearing a whole lot more from him soon, starting this Friday with “Back In The Saddle.”
