Luke Combs has an update about his next record.
Since the start of the year, Luke Combs has been playing some new music on stage. Kicking off 2055 by touring in Australia and New Zealand, Combs debuted a few new songs during that tour and brought some unreleased jams to the stage.
Songs like “Wish Upon A Whiskey,” “Pushin Up Daisies,” and a new heartbreak ballad seemingly titled “Ain’t No Cowboy” made their way to the stage, with fans instantly begging for him to drop the studio cuts of the track.
Of course, with Combs teasing so many new songs to fans Down Under, the question of whether he is gearing up to release a new record was in question. While he’s not getting ready to release a record, Combs did recently share that a new studio record is in the works.
Last night, Combs took to Twitter, now X, to share that he’s very excited about what’s in store for this album. Combs even said that he feels this might be one of his best yet.
“I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like and as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage.
It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made.”

LET’S GO!
Something must be in the water because Combs is not the only artist working on an album who feels what’s in the pipeline is the best they’ve ever done. Parker McCollum spoke out last year that his fifth studio record, which was officially announced recently, is also some of his best work.
Studio tomorrow. Crazy to be recording my 5th studio album. I know for 100% fact that these songs and this record is best I’ve put together since the kid. Took me a long time to get back to this place as a songwriter. Feels good to be happy about my songs again.

If Combs is on track to release this album before the end of 2025, then this year is shaping up to be one of the most stacked album release years. Think about it, Parker McCollum, TWO records from Muscadine Bloodline, rumors of a Turnpike Troubadours record are swirling, and potentially Luke Combs. Come on with it.
I’m excited about whatever Combs has up his sleeve. But I do hope we get the studio versions of one or more of the unreleased gems he played in Australia… they are heaters.
Combs’ fans were quick to react to his post, freaking out at the confirmation of new music being created. Check out a few of the replies.
