Not winning over fans with this performance.
Bailey Zimmerman found himself in hot water after his performance at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa.
At the end of the week and over the weekend, country music fans traded the cold weather that most states are experiencing to the sandy beaches of Mexico to attend Crash My Playa.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the beachfront festival, Luke Bryan pulled out all of the stops for this year’s lineup, having it feature Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Jackson Dean, Ella Langley, Tucker Wetmore, Travis Denning and more.
While the margaritas were flowing, festivalgoers enjoyed the music in the pool or with their toes in the sand for the nighttime performances, soaking up the Cancun sun. While most performers received positive reviews on social media…one is under some heat for his lackluster performance.
The “Rock And A Hard Place” singer might be in that position after his daytime performance. It appears that Zimmerman might have had a few too many cold ones before hitting the stage, as he flailed around while singing. While many artists jump or act silly on stage, and folks don’t think twice about it, Zimmerman’s poor vocal delivery, combined with his antics, made some fans less than impressed.
Vocally, Zimmerman appeared to be struggling to hit the notes of his song. While I’m not a huge fan, his fans constantly rave about how incredible he is live, but even some loyal followers noted how he seemed off during this performance.
What convinced folks that Zimmerman was intoxicated during this train wreck of a performance was the grand finale, where he jumped off the stage into the pool where the crowd was viewing his set. Which, to be fair, why wouldn’t you end the set with a dip in the pool? The terrible singing is much more indicative of him possibly being hammered than jumping in the pool… guy can’t have fun performing in Mexico?
The social media user who shared the video noted the performance was a hot mess from her on-screen caption.
“That one time Bailey Zimmerman was so terrible he jumped off his own stage.”
@christinealonso1 I can’t lie – I was so excited for this song! I think we deserve a redo! Haha #baileyzimmerman #crashmyplaya #lukebryan #countrymusic #crashmyplaya2025 ♬ original sound – Christine Alonso137
Another creator shared a video from his set where he took a tumble on stage before making his grand finale exit into the pool.

“Me singing karaoke at my local dive bar.”
“This is alcohol-related. He’s young and loving life.”
“When autotune didn’t get plugged in! Fire that sound man!”
“Y’all crashers know this is to be completely expected. Luke probably feeds him all the drinks.”
“That Mexico sun, hey.”
“Acting like Luke Bryan.”
“He’s drunk as f*ck. He’s young and loving life. It happens. Let him have fun. He’s normally not this awful.”
“Oh noooooo, he sounds like sh*t without studio magic.”
I found it fascinating that many commenters almost defended BZ, claiming his performance was terrible because he had been drinking. Of course, being a musician is not a standard 9-5 job, and you can have a few before getting on stage, maybe even during the set, but that’s not an excuse for you to deliver horrible performances.
There were people in the crowd who paid a pretty penny to see his performance, and to see one of your favorite artists in this light could turn the fans entirely from them.
Of course, who knows if there were any other factors, maybe the wind ripping made it difficult to hear himself. A number of fans commented that he usually sounds great.
Maybe this was a harsh lesson Zimmerman needed to learn, but thankfully, he appeared to have gotten it together before that evening when Luke Bryan brought him out on stage during his set. His vocals sounded better that evening.
@lifewithjessicaandrews Bailey Zimmerman reminds me of a puppy. Full of energy and floppy 🤣 He had a good time! #baileyzimmerman #lukebryan #crashmyplaya ♬ original sound – jessica_andrews
