The Tennessee Titans have decided to part ways with their former second round draft pick – QB Will Levis – and thus, NFL fans are worse off (just because we are no longer guaranteed memes).
It’s NFL roster cut down day, and teams all across the league are finalizing their 53-man rosters. Franchises are having to make tough calls as they whittle down their team and prepare for the upcoming season, which kicks off on September 9. For the NFL franchise in Nashville, they made a roster cut that officially signaled they are moving on from the quarterback that, at one point, they believed could lead the Titans into the future.
Quarterback Will Levis is no longer a Tennessee Titan.
Can’t believe the Will Levis era is over.
He took the high road when it was announced that he was waived by the Titans, and provided this quote to the media about how grateful he was to be a member of the Tennessee franchise:
“Very grateful. Ms. Amy (Adams-Strunk) brought me in here and welcomed me with opens arms as well as everyone in Nashville with the team. I grew a lot in my time with the Titans and wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.”
You know what? All of us NFL fans are grateful for your time with the Tennessee Titans as well, Mr. Levis. Because you provided some of the greatest, meme-able moments in the history of the NFL. Let’s revisit some of those, shall we?
Putting Mayo In His Coffee
Before Levis even got drafted into the NFL, he was the butt of a lot of jokes because he apparently likes to put mayonnaise in his coffee. It did end up landing him a sponsorship with Hellman’s, so it wasn’t a total loss. However, it seems like the move led to people not taking him seriously… which in reality paved the way for the memes to comes in bunches.
“Crying” On The Bench
The camera had a knack of picking up Levis at his lowest. Right after he suffered a shoulder injury, the broadcast caught the Titans quarterback “crying” on the sideline. In his defense, he wasn’t actually crying… it was just a severe grimace. But social media screenshotted the moment and ran with it.
The Hustle Play
Say what you want about Will Levis, but he always brought the hustle. Especially after throwing the ball to the opposing team. In a game against the Texans, the Nashville franchise was looking for some insurance before heading into the fourth quarter. Let’s just say Levis didn’t provide that… but he did sprint as hard as he could right after a pick.
The Surrender Cobra
Arguably Will Levis’ best meme during his time on the Titans was the surrender cobra that came immediately after throwing one of the most egregious interceptions the world has ever seen. The pass attempt was so tragic that it brought Will to his knees, and the world into an endless fit of laughter.
The Spiderman Celebration
This is one of the rare Will Levis memes that happened after something good happened. After the Tennessee Titans scored a touchdown, the QB (now former QB) ran to the end zone to celebrate with his teammates… and broke out a very emphatic Spiderman celebration.
Draft Night
We should have known that Will Levis was going to be one of the most entertaining players in the league when his Draft Night didn’t go as planned, and still became one of the biggest moments of the night. Levis’ then girlfriend, Gia Duddy, went viral as Levis slid out of the first round. One might say things have worked out better for her than Will since that night.
Poor Will Levis.
I will say… I saw him play in Nashville once, and he made some absolutely phenomenal throws. That one, unreal game never translated to an entire season’s worth of play… and that lack of consistency played into the Titans moving on from Levis.
And now, the social media world that cultivated all of the memes during the QB’s time with Tennessee are now reacting to the news that he’s no longer a part of the team:

Somewhere a jar of mayonnaise just fell to its knees in a Walmart

RIP to Will Levis’ Titans era… may he land somewhere else and continue to create high-class memes with his football playing.
