An absolutely devastating scene coming out of southern California this morning.
Dry conditions and strong Santa Ana winds have sparked a number of wildfires across the general Los Angeles area, including the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, Malibu, Altadena, Pasadena, Sylmar, and more. And a 4th fire, the Woodley Fire, has started today in the Valley.
Firefighters and first responders continue to battle the flames and evacuate residents as Palisades fire has burned more than 3,000 acres, as well as tons of homes and businesses in Pacific Palisades neighborhood and near Malibu. The Eaton fire has burned more than 1,000 acres, as well as homes and business in Altadena and Pasadena. And the Hurst fire has burned more than 500 acres near Sylmar. As of right now, most of the fires are 0% contained.
Over 80,000 people have been evacuated, over 300,000 homes are without power, air quality has reached very hazardous levels… and in addition to Los Angeles County Fire, department from Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties are working to contain the fires. First responders from Nevada, Oregon and Washington state tare on their way to help as well.
California's burning, and Newsom and Bass are fanning the flames with their incompetence! From Pacific Palisades to Pasadena, Malibu to beyond, our state is in ashes because they can't manage a fire, let alone a state. They've failed us, failed our homes, and failed our safety.… pic.twitter.com/yshfRKjR7m

Praying for our friends and family who have been evacuated from the fires in Pacific Palisades, CA (about 15 min from where I grew up). Some have already lost their homes… I'm praying that everyone in the area gets out safe! And please join me in praying for the safety and… pic.twitter.com/3Oq2yexrG4

Even the smoke in Santa Monica is frightening:
Eerie sight to walk down to Ocean Avenue and see people jogging, biking, exercising and waking dogs as smoke from the monstrous Pacific Palisades fire drifts over the Pacific and heads toward Santa Monica and the pier. Sky is turning color and can hear sirens in the distance but… pic.twitter.com/jXLAiipBsJ

The aftermath in Pacific Palisades:
This is what’s left of the Pacific Palisades. The mall survived. Most everything else is gone. Homes, apartment complexes… businesses. pic.twitter.com/Vfz721V48J

Utterly devastating and shocking… my heart breaks for the people there. Many people losing their homes, their businesses, their entire livelihoods… and some will inevitably lose their lives (2 deaths are being reported as of right now).
But of course, it wouldn’t be the internet without ridiculous scumbag humans celebrating the destruction, simply because someone who has a different political viewpoint than them lives there.
Is it me, or does this woke professor at the University of Missouri seem happy about it?
Name checks out…

Forget the thousands of other people who lost everything they own, forget the billions of dollars of damage, forget the firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives trying to rescue and evacuate people, as well as contain the blaze. But hey, because Donald Trump-supporting actor James Woods lives there… it’s somehow karma? And, suppose that actually were karma (it’s not), wouldn’t you basking in the glow of others’ misery be inviting the same “bad karma?” Are you that stupid?
What a sorry excuse for a person… and one who is supposed to be responsible for shaping and molding these college minds? We’re so doomed…
At least sane people still exist on X who were quick to call her out for the disgusting and ignorant comment:
There are thousands of innocent people, beside Mr. Wood, who have lost everything. Rejoicing in the misfortunes of others is actually the best way to invite "karma".

Horrible horrible horrible.

Is karma also responsible for all of his neighbors losing their homes? What about the lives lost in this fire? Is that deserved too?
— AdamInHTownTX (@AdamInHTownTX) January 8, 2025
Karma will be calling Mizzou today 🤷♀️
— Duckie (@NoseyRosy1) January 8, 2025
That's pretty cold blooded.
— BloomStreetBlues (@grenwuld) January 8, 2025
Ma’am, karma works both ways. And this statement is inherently EVIL!

Disgusting for a Professor @Mizzou to say.
— Liberals Tears Clean My Guns (@LiberalsG36619) January 8, 2025
Fitting name. You know a lot of dems are losing their homes in this too, right?

If you believe in karma, maybe you should consider your post and what karma may have in store for you.
— marshalld (@MarshallDActual) January 8, 2025
That moment when you realize that many left leaning celebrities have also lost their homes and possessions…
— BOΞ_DYΞ (@boe_dye) January 8, 2025
Wow. What an awful thing to say.

@Mizzou, is this the kind of people you employ as educators? You should really come get your trash now. It stinks2

California is obviously a very Liberal place. Los Angeles county voted 65% for Biden in the 2024 Presidential Election… lots of very wealthy, very Liberal people live there too. Just an asinine, ignorant, despicable comment from Karen. Not only cruel, it’s stupid. Plus, for anyone who actually believes in “karma” to say such a thing is patently absurd and hypocritical.
And look, I certainly don’t agree with a lot of the politics coming out of California. I certainly don’t agree with the way Governor Gavin Newsom runs the state… but I certainly don’t wish this kind destruction on ANYBODY in the state. Or anywhere else for that matter. In fact, I love visiting that part of southern California. I love going to Santa Monica and Malibu, I’ve been there half a dozen times… the beaches, the hiking, the parks, the restaurants, it’s a great place to visit. But this kind of evil is just par for the course among the hyper-woke lunatics who are so wrapped up in identify politics that they sacrifice their basic humanity… on the alter of virtue signaling moralism, no less. Oh, the irony…
I assume ol’ Karen will be getting a call from Mizzou at some point today (she just deleted the tweet). According to her LinkedIn she teaches literature and geography, which is actually kind of shocking. I would’ve bet my life it was Marxism or gender studies.
Anyways, James Woods shared a video from his home the night before the blaze destroyed it.
I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades. Now all the fire alarms are going off at once remotely.
It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say. pic.twitter.com/nH0mLpxz5C

We renovated a home after COVID and just finished last month. To all the lovely people offering care and love, I’ll say this.
There is no possession as priceless as friends and good neighbors during a tragedy. I can’t believe the blessings we enjoy, and I am humbly grateful.
— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) January 8, 2025
Prayers up for everybody in the area.
