Tonight, Miranda Lambert is slated to perform on CBS Network’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which will be broadcast across the country from Music City.
She’ll be singing a couple new songs from her Postcards From Texas album that was released earlier this year, including “Dammit Randy” and a cover of David Allen Coe’s “Living On the Run.”
And in an interview with Bunnie XO (podcaster and wife of Jelly Roll) ahead of this evening, Miranda talked about performing from her bar on Broadway, Casa Rosa:
“We’re doing Nashville’s big ole New Year’s Eve bash at Casa Rosa. I’m doing two new songs off my new record ‘Postcards From Texas.’ One’s called ‘Dammit Randy,’ and one’s a David Allen Coe cover called ‘Living On the Run.’
It’s got this 70’s, throwback bada** vibe and I thought it was perfect for New Year’s Eve.”
And when Bunnie asked about resolutions that she tries to set for herself that are hard to stick to, Miranda joked that it’s usually “cussing less and drinking less,” but she never really follows through too much… and honestly, I’ve never felt so seen. So many resolutions are a lot easier said than done, so if you’re someone who makes them and sticks to them every year, good for you… I don’t usually set resolutions, and if I ever have, they’ve been pretty simple and attainable.
Maybe that’s cheating, I don’t know, but like Miranda, I’ve learned to not really do it at all, especially something so out of the realm of possibilities that will cause me to later hate myself and wonder why I can’t follow through. She also explained that she now sets “intentions” as opposed to traditional “resolutions” so maybe that’s worth trying this year instead (though I probably, won’t honestly):
“Oh God. It’s usually cussing less, drinking less, less of everything. But, you know, I stopped setting resolutions, I set intentions now. Which is a little bit more doable, less scary.”
I thought the most relatable thing about Miranda was that she’s a self-proclaimed Miller Lite girl with “an RBF,” but luckily I was wrong.
We like to drink and cuss a little, and I personally think that adds to the charming personality, rather than taking away from it…

CBS Network’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash will include performers in Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Post Malone, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Zach Top, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kane Brown, Big & Rich, Luke Bryan, Tyler Hubbard, Shaboozey, Brittney Spencer and Parker McCollum.
Keith Urban, Kane Brown and Jelly Roll are headlining from Bicentennial Park, and Parker McCollum will perform from the Brooklyn Bowl.
Keith Urban and Entertainment Tonight host Rachel Smith will host the show, and the celebration to ring in the new year will air live on Tuesday, December 31st (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, in addition to streaming on Paramount+*. The show will be executive produced by Robert Deaton and Mary Hilliard Harrington in partnership with Music City Inc., the foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. The special will be directed by Sandra Restrepo in what will be a five-hour broadcast.
Nashville will count down with the East Coast at midnight and keep the party going through midnight Central Time with the city’s renowned Music Note Drop at the Bicentennial Mall stage.
