Bringing the holiday cheer.
Over the weekend, Carrie Underwood showed up at a local Nashville church, which was hosting a Christmas concert, to sing holiday classics like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” The First Noel” and “O’ Holy Night.”
According to people in the comments, it was at Rolling Hills Community Church at the Franklin campus, as part of their Sounds of Christmas concert, and was a total surprise as no one knew she was going to be part of it ahead of time. Of course, the country star is very open about her faith, and has showed up at church before, not long ago leading worship to the surprise of the congregation once again.
She released a beautiful Christmas album called My Gift in 2020, which was her Christmas album and seventh studio album overall. Produced by Greg Wells, the record features guest appearances from John Legend on “Hallelujah,” and Underwood’s oldest son Isaiah appears on a sweet rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy.”
Mixed with Christmas standards as well as several originals, it’s one of the best country Christmas albums out there, and I say that as someone who usually passes on Christmas music.
Carrie sounded absolutely incredible, per the usual, and it’s no secret that she’s one of, if not the best, vocalist on country music.
I mean, I can only imagine how incredible it was to get to experience this in person:
