Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams Is Getting Brutally Mocked For Dramatic Reaction To Apparently Minor Injury

God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

The Chicago Bears looked like Super Bowl contenders during week 1 of the NFL season when they opened the season by putting up 59 points on the Carolina Panthers (a team that scored 37 points against the Bears and destroyed the Atlanta Falcons yesterday, so maybe they’re not the usual terrible Carolina Panthers that we’ve come to expect).

But as good as the Bears looked in week 1, they looked just as bad yesterday against the Minnesota Vikings.

It was an ugly game in the rain and wind at Soldier Field, with the Bears falling to the Vikings 9-3. But the worst moment of the game for Bears fans wasn’t even the final score, but seeing their star quarterback Caleb Williams being carted off the field after going down with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Williams appeared to be in agonizing pain, and left the field on a cart with a towel over his face before taking it off and fist pumping the crowd.

Tough scene for Bears fans. Their quarterback’s obviously out for the season with a gruesome injury and their Super Bowl hopes are dashed in just week 2 of the season. Might even have to have his leg amputated. Heck, just go ahead and check him into hospice now. Take him out back behind the barn and put him down. It’s over for Caleb Williams and the Bears.

Oh wait, what’s that? It was just a minor hamstring injury? He may not even miss the next game?

The Bears announced this morning that Williams avoided major injury, and hasn’t been ruled out for next week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Well unfortunately for Williams, the sympathy for his injury quickly turned into making the quarterback’s dramatic reaction into a meme:

Just a brutal look. You’ve almost got to sit out after that whether you’re injured or not just so people don’t roast you like this online. Tell everybody you tore your Achilles and then make a miraculous recovery before putting the team on your back the rest of the season.

And look, obviously I’m glad he’s ok. You never want to see a player get injured, and everybody’s thankful that it was just something minor. But if you’re going to make a scene like that being carted off the field, giving your entire fanbase a heart attack in the process, it better be something serious and not just a tweaked hamstring.

Or hey, maybe he’s just superhuman and his body heals a lot faster than everybody else’s. Maybe that’s something all these people making fun of him should consider.
