People On Twitter Make Disgusting Comments After Finding Out That Saquon Barkley Has A White Girlfriend

Some terrible people on the internet.

Back during the presidential campaign, some of the worst people you know in the media were hysterically telling viewers that if Donald Trump gets elected, he’s going to ban interracial marriage and take us back to a time before the 1960s, when the Supreme Court found laws banning interracial marriages were unconstitutional.

Of course that’s ridiculous and nobody wants to ban interracial marriages – at least nobody who’s not a self-declared racist that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

But for some reason, Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley (who is black) is getting a lot of hate after people found out that his girlfriend is white.

Now, Barkley and his girlfriend Anna Congdon have been in a relationship since 2017, when the couple met during their time at Penn State. In 2018, they announced the arrival of their first child, daughter Jada Clare. And in 2022 they welcomed their second child together, their son Saquon Barkley Jr.

Well earlier this week, the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles shared video of a sweet moment between the family before one of Saquon’s games. In the video, Jada runs up to her dad and hands him a present ahead of the game, he tells his kids and his girlfriend that he loves them, gives them all kisses…it was a cute moment. How could anybody possibly have a problem with that?

You know how the internet is though…

Folks on Twitter were apparently somehow surprised to learn that Barkley’s girlfriend is white, and began making some pretty disgusting comments about it:

Seems like a lot of people are “disappointed” in Saquon for having a white girlfriend and mother to his children, but I’m pretty sure the only disappointing thing are all the comments criticizing him for it. I mean, what’s the problem here? He’s seemed to have found somebody who makes him happy, they’re providing a loving home for their children…but it’s a problem because she’s white? What year is it again?

Of course I’m sure Saquon probably isn’t too worried about what people on the internet think about his family. The running back is having a monster year in his first season with the Eagles.

Barkley was drafted by the New York Giants back in 2018 with the second overall pick of the NFL Draft, and was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season. He was also selected for the Pro Bowl twice as a Giant, but after his rookie contract it seems the Giants didn’t want to pay Barkley what he felt he deserved, so he decided to test the market to find out what his services were really worth.

It was a decision that paid off for him, because after his messy split from the Giants, Barkley signed a 3-year, $37.75 million deal with the Eagles that guarantees him$26 million over the next three seasons. He’s the third highest paid RB in the league, and leads the NFL in rushing yards so far in 2024.

Barkley has scored 11 touchdowns already this season, and his Eagles are 11-2 and leading the NFC East. (The Giants, meanwhile, are 2-11 and at the bottom of the division).

Safe to say that things are going well for Saquon Barkley – despite what the online trolls have to say.
