Supporting the girls.
Of course, the drama between Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry in the wake of their very public breakup has dominated headlines on the internet over the last several weeks.
It started with rumors online that the pair had split, after fans noticed that Zach was back on the celebrity dating app Raya. The next morning, he confirmed their breakup in a post on his Instagram stories, and shortly after, Brianna also confirmed, but said she was “blindsided” that Zach had already shared the information publicly.
She also shared a tearful video saying she would eventually spill all of the tea about what really went down, and she certainly delivered in that regard.
Brianna and her BFF’s podcast co-hosts in Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy and personality Josh Richards dedicated an entire episode to her sharing a lot about what was going on behind the scenes, and honestly, her side of the story is pretty wild.
She talked about how Zach once got upset she was singing a Morgan Wallen song (which I found particularly funny, for lack of a better word), and she also addressed what happened between them when she attended the Golden Globes.
Additionally, Bri revealed that she had turned down a $12 MILLION NDA to be able to speak about all of it publicly, which was certainly respectable and impressive, to say the least.
It all painted Zach in a bad light, but again, it’s only fair to point out that this is just one side of the story… though I have to admit, it’s pretty convincing, and I feel for Brianna hearing what she went through and how it’s clearly taken a toll. I think it’s a kind of relationship that, unfortunately, so many women can relate to, and I’ve seen tons of comments online where many women are speaking up and thanking Brianna for being so open about everything.
And that includes country music’s own Carly Pearce, who shared a video on Instagram last night giving kudos to Brianna and spotlighting her vulnerability. She said that the podcast “really hit home” for her, adding that “us girls gotta stick together,” along with a clip of Brianna talking about being manipulated early in the relationship in the background:
“It takes a lot to be this open in front of the world. But this [is] important. Kudos to you, Brianna. This podcast really hit home for me, as I know it did many of you. Us girls gotta stick together.”
She also shared this message as part of her post:
“To all the girls silently struggling: I lived this story & love bombing is REAL. Know your worth, know it has nothing to do with you. You deserve more, just like I did.”
Of course, country fans know that Carly went through a very public divorce from fellow country artist Michael Ray in 2020, though she’s had a couple relationships since then too, so she could be referencing any or all of them here, or even some we may not know about.
Either way, I love seeing her stick up for Bri, and I think her message is right on target for women everywhere, and especially young women who might be dealing with something similar now and look up to Carly or Bri:

Oh, and if you haven’t seen Dave’s new Zach Bryan diss track “Country Diddy” it’s pretty great, and you can watch it here:
