Tyler Childers Rode Mule To His Local Kentucky Precinct To Vote In 2024 Presidential Election

Tyler Childers got to the polls today in fashion. Some might even say “old-fashioned.”

You’d have to live under a rock to not know that today was Election Day. With all the yard signs, the TV advertisements, and the annoying “Can I Count On You?” texts that we all had to suffer through for months on end, it would have been virtually impossible to not see November 5th coming.

And here we finally are.

Hopefully you got out there today and exercised your civic duty, or perhaps you participated in early voting or mail-in voting. That’s fine too. But I can assure you that you didn’t vote in the way that country music star Tyler Childers did.

By mule.

The “Lady May” singer grew up in the hollers of Lawrence County, which is in the Eastern Kentucky Coalfield region of the state. However, it appears as though he now resides somewhere near Irvine, Kentucky, these days. If you are really interested in geography (free geography lesson!), Irvine is about an hour from Lexington, Kentucky.

He actually utilized a mule to get to his local polling location today in order to cast his vote for the 2024 Presidential Election. A couple different people managed to spot him riding around in town:

Childers isn’t one to shy away from politics, though he’s never explicitly associated himself with the Democratic or Republican party at the national level. He has, however, supported Democratic Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and voiced his support for some big ticket items that can often be politicized.

For example, Childers has historically stood up for coal miner’s rights, and has also shown his support for same-sex marriage. The country singer actually managed to somewhat address both issues in his 2023 music video for “In Your Love.” His 2020 song “Long Violent History” stood up for racial equality.

And he didn’t tell his fans to go out and vote one way or the other today. Childers just shared a picture of himself and his mule at his polling location with the message “Happy Election Day.” I went ahead and included a screenshot from his Instagram story below in case you thought the picture above was photoshopped, or AI, or whatever other excuse you can use nowadays for doctored photos:

Yep. That’s Tyler Childers.

I honestly love the look, and appreciate the fact that he posted about the election in a non-biased away. Most of the celebrity and high-profile individual posts I saw today (and as of late) were clearly endorsing one of the candidates. All Tyler Childers really endorsed was mule travel and wearing fun hats.

And if I’m not mistaken, it appears that Childers used one of the very Percheron mules (mule with a Percheron mare as its mother and a donkey as its father) that inspired his “Percheron Mules” track from his latest Rustin’ In The Rain album. We’d probably all be better off listening to Tyler Childers tonight instead of doom-scrolling and taking in crazy amounts of 2024 Presidential Election Coverage on television.

You can start with “Percheron Mules” since I just brought it up:
