Another generous donation from Morgan Wallen.
This afternoon, he announced that through his foundation Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF), he is donating $500,000 worth of new musical instruments to schools in all of touring cities from his recent stadium trek.
Of course, for the past two years, Morgan has donated three dollars from every U.S. ticket sold on his 87-show One Night At A Time World Tour to the MWF, so seeing as it was the highest-selling country tour of all-time, he was clearly able to raise a ton of money and it’s incredibly impressive.
The foundation focuses on supporting youth music and sports programs, and Morgan makes this donation through the “One Instrument At A Time” initiative that is in partnership with Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF).
Wallen made stops at 14 stadiums across the country, from Philadelphia to Nashville, Charlotte to Tampa Bay and many more, so there will be plenty of students that benefit from this and get to use all of the new instruments.
Morgan says having access to music as a kid “profoundly change my life and gave me purpose,” so he wants to be able to pass the on to the next generation now. An honorable endeavor, indeed:
“When I was a kid, access to music profoundly changed my life and gave me a sense of purpose. I want that for others, and I’m blessed to be able to provide instruments to these schools through my foundation.
We really wanted to say a big thank you to these awesome communities that welcome us in and let us play for our fans.”
Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to changing the lives of kids by giving them access to learn and play music in school via the donations of high-quality musical instruments, so it was a natural fit to team up with MWF.
Kathleen Flaherty, executive director of the Morgan Wallen Foundation, added that they hope to impact the lives of children in America through programs like “One Instrument At A Time”:
“Giving back is an integral part of who Morgan is and how he was raised. So launching ‘One Instrument At A Time’ in conjunction with this tour was incredibly important.
Partnering with Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation enabled us to utilize their expertise in securing quality instruments and identifying schools in local communities that need them the most. In turn, we hope to impact the lives of kids by giving them access to learn and play music, which is what set the stage for Morgan’s life.”
Of course, last month, MWF made a massive donation to the American Red Cross to support ongoing recovery efforts from the devastation of Hurricane Helene in his native east Tennessee, as well as neighboring western North Carolina. The foundation also gave $140,000 to Gibbs Youth Sports to coincide with the Tennessee native holding a record-breaking two-night run of shows at Neyland stadium.
While his star continues to rise and Morgan continues to achieve new goals at a rapid pace, it’s really cool to see him giving back to so many people and doing a lot of good with his very successful career and very large platform.
Just yesterday, he scored his first solo debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as his most recent release “Love Somebody” took the top spot in the first week of it being out. It’s Morgan’s third #1 on the chart overall, which also includes hits “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone, as well as “Last Night.”
