Is it me or are people taking this way too personally?

Social media has been nonstop talking about Zach Bryan‘s split from his girlfriend, Brianna Chickenfry. The public break up is taking fans by storm, as they are not only heartbroken to see the relationship come to an end, but also angry that Bryan was spotted on the popular celebrity dating app Raya less than 24 hours after ending things.

Brianna Chickenfry has since spoken out about the breakup, noting that she feels blindsided that ZB made it public only a day after they chose to separate.

“But, um yeah, I’m probably not gonna post this for a little while, but I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up, and I had no idea that post was going up.

He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me, I just woke up to a bunch of texts like ‘Are you okay?’ and I’m like, did my f*****n’ dad die? And yeah, so I’m like completely blindsided by that.”

After ZB put out his official statement about the break up, fans began comparing his last break up statement, finding eerie similarities. Before getting involved with Brianna Chickenfry, he was in a year-long relationship with a woman named Deb, whom fans also adored. He abruptly ended things with her and quickly began dating Brianna. The timeline of his getting into a new relationship was so close that many fans often wondered if there was some overlap between the two relationships, implying that ZB might not have been entirely faithful to Deb at the end of their relationship. And now, fans have begun looking at both of these statements to inform them that his relationships have ended.

This is what Bryan shared yesterday regarding his break up:

“Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.

I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be.

Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”

And this is what he Tweeted in the summer of 2023 when he and Deb parted ways:

“For transparency and respect I am letting everyone know Debra and me went our separate ways about a week and a half ago. Things are mutual between us, we are leaving with plenty of memories and good times. I beg so much that everyone respects her and my privacy through a hard time.”

As you can see, they both follow the same format to let fans know that the relationships have ended. Fans, however, are picking ZB apart, noting that he’s incapable of deep love or being alone. A social media user who posted the statements side by side has other fans in the comments ripping ZB to shreds.

Check out some of the comments.

“This must be saved in his notes app.”

“Him saying ‘and me’ in both is wild.”

“18 months is the pattern. Album is going to be fire though.”

“Like yearly clockwork.”

“That is the COLDEST breakup announcement I have ever seen.”

“Dirtbag.”

“He only announces it and states specific timelines because he jumps on dating apps right after.”

“When they show you who they are…”

“I was reading today’s, and I was like, ‘I’ve read this before from you, sir.'”

“Too familiar.”

Jesus… relax people. What are you supposed to say? Every celebrity breakup announcement sounds nearly the exact same. “We separated… it’s sad… we respect each other… give us privacy.” Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Some of these people have entirely too much time on their hands to be diving into stuff like this.

Go outside and take a walk… you’ll be better off for it.
