Already a fan-favorite, the full version of “Love Somebody” is HERE.
Today, Morgan Wallen released another new single, which he’s been teasing for a while now and has performed while overseas on his One Night At A Time 2024 Tour.
Written by Wallen alongside John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Elof Loelv and Ryan Vojtesak, “Love Somebody” finds Morgan longing for a real, genuine relationship with someone who loves him for who he is, and not all the money and fame:
“I just wanna love somebody who won’t leave a hole in my heart
I just wanna love somebody that don’t want me fallin’ apart
And I’d be lucky if I ever find a somethin’ more than just a crazy night
I just wanna love somеbody
Who ain’t hypnotized by dollar signs and blindin’ lights
Like they tеnd to be, yeah
I need someone that I’d be proud
To take on back to my hometown
Honest eyes that just ain’t gonna leave”
He says the song has a bit of a different feel for him both lyrically and sonically:
“‘Love Somebody’ is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically. I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I’m really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”
I actually appreciate the fact that he’s experimenting with different sounds, and I could pick up on it right away (especially in the production and latin-inspired guitar work), before I even read his quote, so I think he definitely pulled that off here.
Morgan recently said that he was in the studio working on a lot of new stuff, so this one is seemingly going to be part of some sort of forthcoming project (I’m making a lot of assumptions and have no insider information on that front).
He most recently released “Lies Lies Lies” as a single, as well as scoring a massive crossover hit with Post Malone earlier this year, Billboard’s 2024 Song of the Summer “I Had Some Help.”
After month’s of teasing, I know fans are going to be eager to hear the full version, so without further ado, you can listen to “Love Somebody” here:
