Watch Angry Grizzly Bear Get Revenge On Montana Wildlife Officials Who Trapped Him… By Mauling Their Camera

Bear release in Montana

There’s not an amount of money you could pay me to do this.

I don’t know about you, but I prefer to see grizzly bears from a distance – as in “seeing a video online that someone else took” distance. They’re one of the fiercest apex predators on planet Earth, and you certainly don’t want to be around one if its angry.

The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department didn’t have much of a choice though when they were forced to relocate a 22-year-old grizzly that had been terrorizing the chicken coops of a populated area. So they tracked, trapped it, and then found a good spot to release the bruin, as the caption explained:

“This was the release of a 22- year-old male in Montana’s northern Whitefish Range. He’d been getting into chicken coops (gotta use electric fences in grizzly country!) so Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks bear biologist Tim Manley trapped him and released him in a wilder locale with fewer troublesome temptations.”

Tim “The Man” Manley (I just gave him that nickname) was clearly the man for the job, because he didn’t even look the slightest bit concerned as he prepped to release the grizzly from the cage sitting creekside. The crew even set up a camera to capture the moment the doors opened and the bear was released back into the wild.

That was both a good idea and bad idea:

“I expected him to bolt into the creek and set my camera up accordingly. But he had his own idea which involved a bit of revenge on the damn humans with the audacity to trap him. Check out how he explodes from the trap as soon as the door is high enough. Then he almost takes my camera with him.”

As you’ll see, the grizzly bear was in no mood to calmly walk out of the cage and back into the wild peacefully. Instead, it set its sights on the nearest foreign object and got its revenge – even if it was just knocking over and damaging the camera that was set up.

It made for quite the cool video though, and fortunately, no one was hurt during the release of the grizzly:
