Uncle Lucius laying it down.

Last year, Uncle Lucius triumphantly returned to the music scene after taking a hiatus in 2015. The Austin, Texas band was a hidden gem for many years, and those plugged into the Texas country music scene loved that Uncle Lucius was one of the best-kept secrets. However, gatekeeping is never fun, so the rest of the country music collective was turned onto the group when they were featured on Yellowstone.

While fans were uncertain when and if the group would get together to make music again, we were blessed with a stellar album, Like It’s The Last One Left, last year. The album sonically pushed the boundaries of their sound, intertwining soul with southern rock and roots of country music. The result was a record of thoughtful songs that were intriguing to the listener’s ears.

Today, the group released a collection of songs on a new record, Live From Ear Studio. This shows fans they are the real deal in the recording booth and on stage, consistently delivering the same sound

Live From Ear Studio is a fun album that showcases a few of their own tracks and a handful of covers with their twist.

Recorded in their hometown of Austin, Texas, they cover greats like “Just To Satisfy You” from Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, “Bertha” from The Grateful Dead, and Tom Petty’s “Shadow People.” Along with these stellar covers, the boys also perform their tracks like “Holy Roller,” “I’m Happy,” and their first single back after their break, “Keep Singing Along.”

The chemistry this group has in the studio is unmatched, and you can feel the passion behind the vocals and each guitar strum – a testament that these guys genuinely love what they do.

Uncle Lucius does not miss; you’re missing out if you don’t listen to this group.
