At long last, we finally have a Yellowstone return date.
Just announced yesterday, we know the second part of season 5 will debut on Paramount on November 10th.

Unfortunately we also officially learned that Kevin Costner will not be returning as John Dutton, leaving fans with a lot of questions as to how the storyline can wrap up or even move on without the main character but I guess that’s why we’ll have to tune in later this year.
I don’t know about you but after hearing this news I’ve been thinking back on some of my favorite parts of the show and the one thing that always sticks out to me is the music.
Not only are a huge slew of excellent artists featured for the soundtrack (which you can listen to in its entirety on our Yellowstone playlists) but no shortage of artists have shown up on screen, like Whiskey Myers during Rip and Beth’s dance and Shane Smith & The Saints playing at John Dutton’s inauguration party.
But the one artist that easily got the most shine from the series was Ryan Bingham, who plays a ranch hand named Walker. Honestly, I forget he’s Ryan Bingham while watching at times because he plays his role so well but when he occasionally breaks out the guitar reality sets back in.
While Ryan was in the area for the Under the Big Sky Festival in Whitefish, Montana a few years back he recorded an acoustic version of “Wolves” for the show and it’s a performance I always find myself going back to.
The song is an allusion to the hard life he had growing up, whether it was being bullied at school, his mother dying of alcohol abuse and his father committing suicide, but ultimately, it was inspired by the tragic shooting at Parkland, Florida.
It also somewhat ties to his character in the show, who many times stands up for himself despite the possibility of it really backfiring on him.

And keep the wolves at bay.”
Truly a beautiful performance by a multi-talented man. While I do have my reservations, I’m excited to see how Yellowstone is going to wrap up.
