Headed to country radio.
Today, HARDY released a new song from his forthcoming QUIT!! album called “SIX FEET UNDER (Caleigh’s Song),” which is a solo write.
A sweet tune dedicated to his wife, Caleigh, it finds Hardy facing his own mortality and deep love for her. The production is much more simple compared to some of the other releases from his aforementioned album, which makes it an instant standout in more ways than one.
In typical Hardy, rock and roll fashion, even this love song has a bit of an edge to it, though, as he questions death and how he must be “six feet under somewhere” if heaven is a moment you want to last forever because that’s how good his life is with her…
Like I said, it’s incredibly sweet and a much softer side of the country rocker than we’re used to hearing, but still in a very Hardy way:
“Forgive me for askin’, but
Where do you go when you die?
How do you know when you’re there?
If heaven’s a moment you wish never ended
Then I’m six feet under somewhere
But I’m six feet under somewhere
I swear to God, I thought I was dead
On the side of the road, with glass in my head
Oh, but death ain’t what scared me to death in the end
It was thinkin’ I’d never see you again”
Additionally, the song is officially headed to country radio as his next single and will impact this Monday, and I imagine will do quite well at country radio considering the very sweet sentiment.
