When the news first broke about a car accident involving a vehicle belonging to Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, it was unclear whether he was at the scene or not. Now there’s a little more clarity as to what happened. Multiple videos from the scene of the crash show what led to the wreck.

It certainly looks like Rice and his friends — who were suspected to be street racing — fled the scene, which resulted in multiple people being sent to the hospital.

The Dallas Morning News continues to provide updates and excellent reporting on Rice’s situation. As of Monday morning, police were still searching for him. Adam Schefter passed along Sunday’s major piece of news that described what led to the accident:

Thankfully, it seems like everyone made it out of the wreck relatively OK. According to the latest details from The Dallas Morning News, two people were treated at the hospital for minor injuries, while two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A woman who had her 4-year-old son in one of the cars sounded off on how scary it was to be involved in the accident.

That woman’s name is Kayla Quinn. Another witness Quinn spoke to stated that when Rice and his friends left the scene of the accident, they were carrying guns.

What remains unclear is whether Rice was driving one of the cars. Nevertheless, fleeing the scene of an accident that results in injury to another person is a felony, according to Nolo. Rice could definitely be looking at jail time, too, depending on how an investigation shakes out, and how and when he’s ultimately taken into custody. In the meantime, it looks like Rice is already gearing up for a legal battle.

We’ll see if there’s a release on the incident on Monday, but in any event, it sure feels as if Rashee Rice’s NFL career is hanging in the balance right now.
