BASEBALL IS BACK.

The 2024 MLB season isn’t even a week old and we’ve already seen a number of physical altercations both on and off the field. A couple of on-field incidents have led to benches clearing, and we now have one of the most confusing-yet-entertaining fight videos the baseball world has ever seen.

During a game at Petco Park between the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants, some fans that were walking around in the concourse of the stadium during the game got into it. There’s not a lot of information on how the altercation came to be, but one could imagine it was a classic case of “trash talk gone too far.”

When the video first starts, two men are already on the ground wailing on one another. At first glance, viewers might assume that’s the only action that’s taking place in the concourse. However, the person behind the camera quickly pans over to show two other fans exchanging violent punches.

Those got to witness it probably felt like they were really getting their money’s worth. I mean, one ticket for a baseball game and some amateur boxing/wrestling? It doesn’t get much better than that!

After a while, some security officials stepped in to break up the fights… though it looked like the competitors were running out of steam anyways. But not before some haymakers could be thrown, and thankfully they were caught on video:

Did you see that “beer bat” go flying at one point in the clip? I guess that’s what you would call an “unintentional bat flip.”

You may have also noticed that the older men in the fights seemed to take care of business when the younger baseball fans challenged them. Have those young men never heard of respecting your elders?

Social media certainly noticed the age difference, as well as a couple of other intriguing elements of the fight footage:
