Another round down.

It’s March Madness, so this year for our annual Whiskey Riff Madness tournament we decided to take it back to the ’90s. We paired up 64 all-time great ’90s country songs and let you, the readers, vote for your favorites. And we’re headed to the Sweet Sixteen.

But as always, before we get into the next round, let’s take a look back at some of the matchups from the Round of 32.

Once again, there wasn’t much competition for the top seeds in the bracket: “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” once again was the top vote-getter in the entire round, and (in my opinion) remains the favorite to take home the title this year. And “Chattahoochee,” “Neon Moon” and “John Deere Green” all easily sailed through to the next round – although Kenny Chesney’s “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” did manage to get 20% of the vote against Joe Diffie’s hit.

And “Straight Tequila Night” by John Anderson actually got more votes than “John Deere Green” – so it may be a good thing that those two don’t have to face off in the next round.

In another somewhat surprising upset, “Watermelon Crawl” by Tracy Byrd ended up knocking out “I’m Over You” by Keith Whitley, meaning the #6 seed will move on to the next round to face “Dust On the Bottle” which is sure to be a close one.

“Any Man of Mine” also came close to knocking out “Fancy,” but ultimately Reba pulled away in a battle between two female powerhouses after going into the final day with a lead of just 2%.

By far the closest matchup of the round, though, was #4-seed “Time Marches On” by Tracy Lawrence going up against “Don’t Take the Girl,” the #5-seed by Tim McGraw. After being separated by less than 1% for most of the round, Tracy Lawrence pulled out the win by just a handful of votes.

Honestly I don’t know how I would have chosen between those two either.

But now we’re down to just 16, and it’s time to vote once again.

Here’s the updated bracket.

And the individual regions.

South

East

Midwest

West

Because of Easter weekend, we’re not going to start the next round until Monday – so you have until 11:59 PM CDT on Sunday, March 31 to get your votes in, and as always you can vote as many times as you want either down below or by clicking the link here.

If you have a favorite song you want to win, it’s probably a good idea to throw them a few extra votes. As we saw in the last round, every vote matters.
