A woman has accused Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott of sexual assault in 2017 – and Prescott has taken legal action of his own.

Late last night, Dallas police confirmed that they are investigating a woman’s claims that she was assaulted by the Cowboys quarterback in 2017 in the parking lot of a strip club, XTC Cabaret in Plano, Texas:

“Dallas Police Department received a report of a sexual assault the complainant said occurred on February 2, 2017, in the 8500 block of Stemmons Freeway. This is an ongoing investigation.”

But the quarterback’s attorney, Levi G. McCathern, claims that the sexual encounter was consensual, and that the alleged victim is attempting to extort his client – and Prescott fired back with his own lawsuit against the woman.

The lawsuit, filed earlier this week, claims the woman’s attorneys sent Prescott a letter demanding $100 million in exchange for not disclosing the sexual encounter or pursuing criminal charges.

The letter claims that Prescott sexually assaulted the woman in the back of an SUV in the strip club parking lot after she told him she didn’t want to have sex with him. And it also says that she’s been forced to seek therapy as a result:

“She has suffered mental anguish that is unimaginable dealing with the trauma of being a sexual assault of victim. Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered.”

And according to his attorney, Prescott has also reported the alleged extortion attempt to police:

“Mr. Prescott has reported Defendants’ criminal actions to the appropriate authorities and will continue to cooperate fully in their investigation. Further, Mr. Prescott is forced to file the instant case to bring the truth to light, defend his new family, and promote our society’s collective progress in support of legitimate survivors of sexual assault.”

Meanwhile, Dak is currently in the middle of contract negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys, after his current contract expires in 2025 and no extension being agreed upon yet.

Gotta think this isn’t going to make it any easier to get a deal done…
