Shane Smith & The Saints Take Their High-Energy Stage Presence To The Skies

A concert from 35,000 feet in the sky.

It’s not every day that you can say you saw a live concert while at cruising altitude on a commercial flight, but the passengers on this Southwest Airlines flight can say they have. After the release of Shane Smith & the Saints’ (already) critically acclaimed album Norther, the group surprised Southwest customers with an inflight concert sampling what the album has to offer.

With the band near the plane’s cockpit, passengers pulled out their phones, ready to document the intimate show. Shane Smith & the Saints performed “All I See Is You” and “It’s Been A While” from their 2015 album, Geronimo, along with the title track off their new album Norther. 

Since 2011, Southwest has supported live music through their Live at 35 concert series, and Shane Smith was honored to be the next feature in the series.

“These planes and Southwest Airlines have literally been a home away from home with us on tour. This is really cool to get to be able to perform Live at 35.”

Although the airplane makes for a tight performance space, that did not stop Smith and the boys from keeping the energy high, still rocking and rolling as they did their three-song performance.
