A new song from Morgan Wallen.

Yesterday, on the one-year anniversary of his chart smashing One Thing At A Time studio album, the Tennessee native released a seven-song project called Abbey Road Sessions, which was recorded in London in Studio Two of the iconic Abbey Road Studios.

During a trip across the pond last fall to play a show at London’s sold-out O2 Arena, he also stopped by to perform some more stripped-back renditions of songs from the album at the aforementioned studio. Morgan says getting to record at Abbey Road was “legendary”:

“Playing the O2 in London last fall and getting to record at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band.

We will never forget it. I’m so excited to release these Abbey Road Sessions for my fans on the one-year anniversary of ‘One Thing At A Time.’ They make all this possible.”

In addition to performing new renditions of fan-favorites like “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” “Everything I Love” and “I Wrote The Book,” he covered Nothing But Thieves’ “Graveyard Whistling” and debuted a new tune called “Lies Lies Lies.”

He previously played the song during an acoustic set at the end of February, but this new video features the whole song and more of a full production with his entire band.

Morgan touches on heartbreak and how the “90 proof is telling me lies, lies lies,” as he begs the girl to stay telling her there’s “nothing I wouldn’t do for you.” It’s unclear who the writers are for this one, but if Morgan does decide to cut it (and I’m assuming he already has or plans to since he sang it here), I really hope they keep a similar production as they played for the Abbey Road Sessions.

“Lies Lies Lies” has quickly become a fan-favorite, with people in the comments section begging him to release the full studio cut on streaming services, and if I had to guess, it’s likely that will be happening in the near(ish) future.
