Celebrate National Margarita Day With George Strait’s Signature Recipe

George Strait country music

A holiday that involves tequila? Count me in.

February 22nd is one of my favorite holidays, National Margarita Day. And if you’re celebrating this joyous holiday that gives you an excuse to pair a margarita with tacos and chips, you might as well pair that food with one of the best margarita recipes.

If there is one country music star who knows a thing or two about tequila, it’s The King himself, George Strait. The hitmaker and co-owner of Código 1530, Strait knows a thing or two about how to make a good drink. And for those of you who did not know, yes, the song “Codigo” is more than just a song to Strait.

George Strait has perfected his signature Ranch Margarita recipe, keeping the ingredients simple and fresh. If you have not had a chance to sample this tequila, it’s top-notch.

Pairing this short list of ingredients with a bright spirit like his makes for a perfect and refreshing drink.

Here’s what you’ll need.

2 Oz of Código 1530 Blanco Tequila
.5 Oz of Triple Sec
1 Oz of Lime Juice
.5 Oz of Agave Nectar

Dust off the shaker and get to mixing. You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.

For an elevated mixology experience, fire up “Codigo” while you shake your cocktail and rim your glass with your dressing of choice. Makes for a 12/10 cocktail-making experience.

We’ve also got you covered if you’re looking for the perfect playlist to pair with your Ranch Margarita. Fire up our Day Drinkin’ Country playlist.
