Retirement didn’t last very long for Nick Saban…

The former Alabama head coach shocked the world when he announced he would be stepping away from college football, but now we’re finding out that he wasn’t completely stepping away the game.

ESPN just announced that starting next season, the greatest college football coach of all time (tell me I’m wrong) will be an analyst on their flagship College GameDay program. He’ll also appear on other football related shows for the worldwide leader in sports.

Saban won’t be replacing any of the other analysts, but rather acting as an addition to the existing members of the College GameDay team, as explained by ESPN’s PR account:

“Nick Saban joins ESPN as a College GameDay analyst, alongside host Rece Davis & analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard & Pat McAfee at the desk.

The 7-time National Champion head coach will also appear on NFL Draft & SEC Media Days coverage.”

I think Nick Saban will be the perfect fit on the show. He had already started appearing on more ESPN programming this past year with his weekly interviews with The Pat McAfee Show.

We even saw him as a guest analyst on College GameDay show itself as he broke down quarterback play and discussed Alabama’s approach to an SEC Championship matchup with Georgia (which they went on to win).
