Will or won’t Lainey Wilson make a reappearance on our TV screens?

As many Yellowstone fans know at this point, the scheduling to film the final parts of season 5, which will be the series finale, has been far from smooth sailing. From the writers’ strike to Kevin Costner making a hasty exit, no one seems to know what the show’s future looks like…or if there will even be one.

Fans, though, are not the only ones who do not know what is in store for the modern-day Western. On the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, Entertainment Tonight spoke with the Country Album of the Year recipient, and they discussed her role in Yellowstone.

Wilson says that she is ready to play the part of Abby again, telling Sheridan she is just a phone call away.

“I’m ready for it, I’ll tell you that. I’m waiting to see what’s happening. I told Taylor Sheridan, you give me the call, and I’ll be there.”

While it has been rumored that writers are now back working on the final episodes, wrapping up the storyline for the Dutton family and the future of their ranch, viewers will not see the show return to the big screen till late 2024. It’s projected that the second half of the season will air in November this year, but even that is not a sure statement.

As someone who works in the music business and knows how to roll with the punches, even Wilson can note that the twists and turns of the show’s schedule are less than ordinary.

“TV business is even crazier than the music business.”

She noted that she has no idea what the future of the show looks like, filming or plot-related. Meaning that even as a paid actor on the set she is still as much in the dark as the fans are.

“I can’t tell you. I mean, truly.”

I know I speak for many fans that we’d not only like to see the show come back to the air but also see Wilson back on our screens. She’s a woman of many talents, and acting might be her next calling.

While we wait for definite news on when the show will return, be sure to stock up on Yellowstone merchandise from Whiskey Riff Shop.
