The Florida Man might be up to no good, but at least a Florida K-9 can make up for it.

Friday afternoon in Hillsborough County, Florida, a police K-9 named Mary Lu helped locate a missing 11-year-old girl. Sheriff’s deputy Sarah Ernstes and her trusty four-legged partner responded to a call about a missing girl around 8 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mary Lu tracked the girl’s scent and went to a neighbor’s house, where they noted they had given the girl a ride to a nearby apartment complex. After heading to the location, Mary Lu quickly led to the search for a bathroom in the park.

The body camera footage from the search shows the K-9 sitting at the base of the locked bathroom door, wagging her tail vigorously.

“She does have happy tail over here at these bathrooms, which she only does when she’s close to somebody.”

The girl was found safely inside and returned to her family. As a reward for the dog’s excellent work, the deputy let the girl play fetch with the dog in the park.

“Our teamHCSO K9 Unit has once again proven its invaluable role in our community. With their exceptional skills, they successfully located and brought home a missing 11-year-old girl, reuniting her safely with her family.

I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s commitment to service and determination to protect and serve.”

Wesh2 reported police said in an official statement.
