Trying to get the full Bills experience.
By now Jason Kelce has become a legend not only for his on-field performance, but also his performance at the matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs as he took to Highmark Stadium to cheer on his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Ahead of the game, Jason was seen taking a shot out of a bowling ball with Bills fans in the parking lot. And once he got to the stadium, Jason made the most of his time with the Bills Mafia, celebrating shirtless as his brother scored a touchdown and jumping out of the suite to chug a beer among the Bills fans.
This game was also the first time that Jason and Kylie would be meeting Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Travis Kelce. And it sounds like Kylie didn’t want Jason to make a bad first impression on the pop superstar.
On this week’s episode of their New Heights podcast, Jason discussed the warning from his wife:
“She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor…
I was like, ‘Kylie the first day I met you I was blacked out drunk and fell asleep at the bar. This is part of the charm. This is part of the Jason Kelce charm.’
If I want to make my best first impression, this is my best chance.”
And Jason even gave Kylie a heads up that he would not, in fact, be on his best behavior:
“I’m not gonna lie, I gave Kylie a heads up. The moment we got into the suite I said, ‘I’m taking my shirt off and I’m jumping outta that suite.’
She said, ‘Jason don’t you dare.’ I was like, ‘Hey, just letting you know it’s happening.’
I’m not asking for permission. I’m doing this.”
But as it turns out, Jason didn’t even get to accomplish his ultimate goal during his time in Buffalo.
Kylie Kelce appeared on Good Morning America today to talk about the entire experience, where she revealed that the one thing Jason really wanted to do to get the full Bills experience was jump through a table:
“He wanted to get the full Bills experience…
He desperately wanted to go through a table. It was on his checklist for the day. Top priority for the day, go through a table.
He did not get a chance to do that, and so when he came into the suite – we arrived separately because he was meeting up with some friends and walking through the parking lot, I think hoping to find himself a table.
And so when he got into the suite he said to me, ‘I’m gonna take my shirt off and I’m gonna jump out.’
I was like, ‘I don’t think that’s the best idea.’
But I think it was that continued energy from when he was hyping himself up to break a table.”
Kylie also admitted that she was fine with Jason jumping out of the suite the first time, but after that she told him to get back inside – because he was making things harder for security outside of the suite.
While Jason put on an impressive performance during the Chiefs victory, I’ve gotta admit, I’m a little disappointed that we don’t have video of him going through a table.
That would have capped off a near-perfect performance from the Eagles center.
