5 Taylor Sheridan Movies To Watch While You Wait For The Return Of Yellowstone Season 5

Jeremey Renner

Is the rest of Season 5 here yet?

The first half of Yellowstone Season 5 is in the books, and 1883, which told us the origin story of the Dutton Ranch, and how the original Dutton family (played by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill) made the trip across the great plains to settle in the great state of Montana, is in the books as well. We’ve seen the first season of 1923, which continues the Dutton story, and the show is slated for a second season which should premiere later this year, or possibly in early 2025.

Another spinoff, which may or may not feature Matthew McConaughey, is also in the works, a modern-day sequel of sorts with the working title 2024, in addition to another prequel series, 1944. So all of that to say, Taylor Sheridan might be the busiest man in Hollywood this year.

But unfortunately, Yellowstone as we know it will come to an end following the conclusion of Season 5, which is set to premiere in November of this year. It’s gonna be a long wait…

So while lot of cool things are happening in the Taylor Sheridan/Yellowstone world, until that day comes… is there anything else we can watch?

Well, what about Taylor Sheridan movies? A skilled writer, director, and even an actor in Sons of Anarchy, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan has written and/or directed a number of movies that are well worth the watch.

And while they’re not exactly anything like Yellowstone (some are closer then others), they come from the mind of the same creative genius that brought us our new favorite show. They also a feature a number of familiar famous, as Sheridan has a habit of working with the same actors in many of his projects.

Here’s a few you should check out:

Sicario – 2015

An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.

Hell Or High Water – 2016

A divorced father and his ex-con older brother resort to a desperate scheme in order to save their family’s ranch in West Texas.

Wind River – 2017

A veteran hunter helps an FBI agent investigate the murder of a young woman on a Wyoming Native American reservation.

Those Who Wish Me Dead – 2021

A teenage murder witness finds himself pursued by twin assassins in the Montana wilderness with a survival expert tasked with protecting him, and a forest fire threatening to consume them all.

Finestkind – 2023

Two half-brothers, raised in different worlds, are reunited as adults over a fateful summer. Set against the backdrop of commercial fishing, the story takes on primal stakes when desperate circumstances force the brothers to strike a deal with a violent Boston crime gang.
