Spreading the Christmas cheer in the wake of tragedy.

Over the weekend, a couple of tornadoes tore through Middle Tennessee with Clarksville being hit with an EF3, and Madison being hit with an EF2 size storm.

They both caused widespread damage and devastation, and according to the National Weather Service, the greater Nashville region experienced an estimated 13 tornadoes in total on Saturday evening.

According to The Tennessean:

“Officials said six people died Saturday night in Clarksville and Madison and 83 people were reportedly transported to area hospitals — 62 from Clarksville and 21 in the Nashville area.

Nine of those hospitalized were transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and were in critical, unstable condition on Sunday.”

A horrific and very sad situation for so many families affected, especially so close to Christmas, and recovery efforts are and will be ongoing for the foreseeable future.

But there was a sweet bright spot on Sunday, when Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts says a 7-year old little girl named Ellie made his day, as well as several other city officials, when they came through her neighborhood to assess some of the damage.

Ellie stood out in her driveway and sang them some of the Mariah Carey hit “All I Want for Christmas is You,” and Mayor Pitts said that, even though her hosue had soem damage fro mteh tornado, she still wanted to lift the spirits of others during such a sad time:

“There’s one little girl, her name is Ellie. She’s 7 years old, and when we pulled up, despite her house being affected, she sang, ‘All I Want for Christmas’ for the crowd who out there.

To Ellie, thank you for lifting our spirits in the face of this awful devastation.”

It’s a good thing Ellie lives so close to Music City, because she’s clearly got some serious star power, and confidence, at only 7-years old, which is pretty amazing.

You can check out the video below shared by The Tennessean, as Ellie was certainly not shy and sang her little heart out in what is an absolutely adorable performance.

She (rightfully) got a great reaction from officials when she was done, and even gave a perfect bow at the end as well:
