Take this as your sign to start showing up to karaoke night at the local watering hole. Will you have to sit through some horrendous performances? 1000% yes. Is there a chance you could be lucky enough to have Will Ferrell show up there? The odds are looking slim, but still a chance, so get your ass in a bar chair.
The comedic genius showed up at a local bar, The Basket Case Pub in Peoria, Illinois, earlier this year, ready to perform for the dive bar crowd during karaoke night. And thank GOD someone captured it on video because this is a story no one would believe without video evidence. The dive bar looks like one of those joints that would make you gasp if you saw it with all the lights on… meaning it’s the epitome of a perfect dive bar.
Will Ferrell has the mic sporting a cozy jacket and belts the words to “She’s A Lady” by Tom Jones. I am honestly shocked that more people aren’t belting out the ’70s classic with him, but that does not rain on his parade.
He gets his boogie on to the melody as he sings and brings in the few who choose to sing along.
“She’s a lady…Everyone. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, she’s a lady…”
It’s electric.
