The media frenzy continues.
Since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have publicly stepped out as a couple, fans of both have non-stop been searching for updates…yes we are also guilty as charged for this. But come on, people, this is my job.
Back to the important matters at hand.
For a family like the Kelces who can maintain privacy off the field, Travis dating an international pop star with crazed fans is quite the culture shock for them.
While Swift has gotten nothing but glowing reviews from the Kelce family as a person, TMZ reported that the family is “incredibly overwhelmed” with the excessive media coverage the couple has been getting.
“We’re told all the attention the couple’s getting isn’t the fam’s favorite thing in the world — seeing how it ends up spilling over on them — but, by the same token, they’re happy Travis is happy … so they’re dealing.”
From day-to-day coverage, non-stop cameras on them during the games, to even playing Taylor Swift songs during NFL breaks, Taylor/Travis mania has not slowed.
While Big Brother Jason Kelce is extremely happy for his little brother to be dating someone that makes him happy, he even commented that it’s “a lot.”
He told NBC Sports last week:
“It’s certainly been weird, the level that it is now. On one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about, that he is genuine about. But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.’”
Nearly a month into their relationship, it’s taking a toll.
With Travis Kelce recently purchasing a more secluded home, hopefully that helps the couple maintain some privacy while in Kansas City. Still, I doubt that will slow the paparazzi and camera footage for the games that Swift attends.
It is also rumored that Travis will attend some of Taylor Swift’s upcoming international Eras Tour dates once the NFL season is over…I wonder if the spotlight will swap to him at the shows he attends.
