The Eagles’ D’Andre Swift & Terrell Edmunds Mic’d Up At Their First Phillies Game Is Pure Gold

@baseballbros

I’ve been a baseball fan my entire life, so getting to watch the uninitiated take in a live game for the first time warms my heart.

Okay, it helps that this first game happened to be a 10-0 shellacking my Phillies put on the Diamondbacks in Game 2 of the NLCS, but hey, whatever works.

Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift and safety Terrell Edmunds got the chance to sit front row behind home plate a few days ago in the absolutely electric Citizens Bank Park for what turned out to be a one-sided slugfest that put the Phillies up 2-0 in the series.

Neither one had ever been to a baseball game before and I can’t imagine a better way to introduce them to the magic that is October baseball than a big win in South Philly.

Fortunately for us, they were mic’d up for the whole game and we get to watch and listen these two start to understand the game and get into a bit, sometimes wondering about how many pitchers were used, saying they want nothing to do with a 100mph fastball, and singing along to Bryson Stott’s catchy walkup song with the crowd.

Honestly, it was pretty funny, but one of the best moments was when Kyle Schwarber came up to the plate to lead off the bottom of the first and Terrell said he felt something in the air.

“He look like he about to do damage though.”

And damage he did, uncorking a monster homerun to give the Phils an early lead. It wasn’t just Terrell that predicted the homer though, as you can hear in this video from the Diamondbacks radio broadcast booth. To say those guys were unhappy is an understatement.

They even started chirping some of the DBacks players for swinging at balls which makes me think in no time they’ll be full on screaming at the ump for every borderline call that doesn’t go the Phillies’ way.

So sum it up, they gave a couple lines about how incredible it feels to be in that park right now, which makes me even more jealous that my family has been at pretty much every game this year…

“This joint crazy… This sh*t’s turnt! This all lit… I didn’t know baseball games was a vibe like this though. I gotta come back to one of these though, for real.”

It warms my heart, it really does. Big game 3 tonight in Arizona. Can’t let them get any momentum going, so let’s hope we come out of the gates hot again.
