If you’re an NFL fan, then you probably know someone who has fully convinced themselves that the NFL is completely scripted, and the games aren’t legit at all.
Hell, you might even be one of those people yourself, and I’d be lying if the thought hadn’t crossed my mind once or twice after seeing an absolutely atrocious call by a referee, or a horrible play call by a coach.
Earlier this year, former star Houston Texans running back Arian Foster actually admitted that the team was given a script before each season while hosting a Barstool podcast alongside PFT Commenter, saying:
“We were really dedicated to it, so it was more so like that’s what practice was about, it was about practicing the script.
Like this is what goes on, this is what we have to do… yeah it’s like WWF, so we know what was gonna happen, but you still have to put on a show.”
A shocking revelation indeed.
Of course, it turns out Foster was just trolling the whole time, and his comments created some hilarious responses from current NFL players, like this one from New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara:
And here we are, several months later, and we have yet another former NFL star commenting about the “script”…
And I’m talking about Tom Brady.
The NFL’s Instagram account shared a hilarious video of Brady discussing if he believes the league is scripted.
He said:
“Do I think the NFL is scripted? Do you think I really would’ve played along with a script that had me losing to Peyton’s little brother Eli twice in the Super Bowl?”
Fair enough, Tom. Fair enough. Of course, this could be a shot at his possible future co-host for the Manningcast, as he was featured in an “audition” clip for the show for this upcoming season.
