There’s nothing much worse than sitting down on a plane, and having to sit next to someone who is incredibly annoying and/or obnoxious, knowing that you have to deal with it for the next few hours.
However, the only thing that could possibly worse is this…
The person you’re sitting next to completely sh*ts themselves, and you can’t do anything but suffer through it until the plane has landed.
That’s exactly what happened in this bizarre situation, during a Delta airlines flight leaving Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, and headed to Barcelona, Spain.
A wild snippet of the pilot’s communications with air traffic control that was reportedly recovered from Delta Flight 194 has been surfacing on the internet, where you can hear the pilot say:
“It’s just a biohazard issue. We’ve had a passenger who had diarrhea all throughout the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.”
The flight was originally supposed to be eight to nine hours, and it left just before 8:30. But, thanks in part to the person who had the good ol’ natty splats, the plane had to turn around and go back to Atlanta, and was back on the ground by 10:40 PM, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Delta issued the following statement to the outlet:
“Delta flight 194 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue.
Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”
The passengers were reportedly moved to another plane, and reached their destination about 8 hours later than originally scheduled.
Man, I can only imagine how much of a nightmare this was for all of the passengers on that plane, dealing with that smell and there’s nothing they could do about it.
I’ve had some shitty flights before, but this one definitely takes the cake.
