A New Zach Bryan Song, “Dead Or Grown,” Appeared On Apple Music – But Zach Says It Wasn’t Him Who Released It

Welp, not so fast…

Zach Bryan has become the gift that just keeps on giving in the music world, releasing music at a damn near impossible pace. Fresh off the heels of his stellar self-produced, self-titled album, the man took a whole week before he got to releasing new music.

Of course, he promised us more music this month, in addition to the album, and damn if he isn’t a man of his word.

Titled “Dead Or Grown,” the song seems to have made its debut a couple years back, when Zach hopped behind the phone to share an unreleased tribute to his late mother, DeAnn, one that wasn’t even named at the time.

However, just yesterday, without any explanation or announcement, the song seems to have hit Apple Music, as well as Amazon Music (doesn’t appear to be on Spotify yet).

Except… he didn’t release it.

Zach has taken to Twitter to clarify that he did not release the song, saying that “terrible people” are taking his old songs and releasing them for profit.

“I did not release a single today lol, terrible people keep taking my old recordings and releasing them for profits on streaming and listens.”

He clarified even further:

“Thing about writing all of my own music, if there is an unreleased song, I intentionally made that decision, everyone that tweets and DMs asking me to release songs I wrote when I was 18 just make releasing music ten times harder.”

A frustrating situation, no doubt:

“Apparently my songs will be released regardless if I want them to be or not according to this morning.”

It’s definitely a bit confusing for fans who thought they had some new tunes from Zach to be happy about.

Here’s the song – which apparently is just an old demo:
