College football is back in full force TOMORROW, which is great, because I truly don’t think I could wait one more day.

And with that, it also means ESPN’s flagship college football show College GameDay, which features host Rece Davis and analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso, also returns to TV’s and tailgates across America.

For 16 years, Big & Rich sang the show’s opening theme song “Comin’ To Your City,” but it was recently announced that they were being replaced with three separate country acts in Lainey WilsonDarius Rucker and The Cadillac three.

And today, their fresh version of the song is out everywhere, which features Lainey taking over lead vocals and absolutely crushing it.

Lainey is a bona fide, college football lovin’ southern Queen, and to be honest, I would’ve loved to see her take it over solo or even pen a new tune for the show, but I’ll be thrilled to see her on GameDay every weekend nonetheless.

She previously shared her excitement on Twitter, saying that her family thinks “she’s doing something now” and they were very impressed that she’ll be the voice of GameDay:

“I’ll tell you what…my family was REAL excited when I shared the news that I was singing on the new version of ‘Comin To Your City’ for college gameday!”

Darius added that it’s been a dream of his to write a song so he could somehow be featured on the GameDay opening:

“I’ve watched that opening so many times. I used to sit in my room and go, ‘I gotta write a song so I can get to the opening of GameDay. It’s pretty amazing.”

Darius will also be the celebrity guest picker tomorrow, so make sure you tune in around 11:30AM EST to see all of his picks for Week 1.

You can listen to the audio below, and the full music video debut will debut tomorrow at 9AM on ESPN, with the return of College GameDay’s 2023 season.

The GameDay crew is actually already in Charlotte, North Carolina for their Week 1 stop at Romare Bearden Park, ahead of the ‘Battle of the Carolinas’ primetime matchup between South Carolina and No. 21 North Carolina, which kicks off at 7:30 PM ABC in the Duke’s Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium.

I’ll be heading out of the Queen City tomorrow and up the mountain to watch my Mountaineers play in Boone, and it should be a great day of college football in the Carolina’s and across the United States, as that long-awaited day is finally here.
